The Xmas Trip is at Pineapple Flat this year, it is one trip that we really encourage ALL Members and families to attend.
The Club Supplies a Spit Roast dinner to ‘Financial Members’ and families on the Saturday Evening. Santa also arrives in the back of a hilux for the kid’s with a gift supplied by the club.
We head out for a drive on saturday to explore the local area, and this will usually include a visit to the iconic “Craigs Hut” and some other huts in the area including King Hut which the Hilux Club are caretakers for, there are many river crossings and plenty of time for a few photo opportunities and a chance for a beer or two with your Hilux Club Buddies.
We are planning a few activities for a bit of fun so that members and familes can mingle and of course the mandatory cricket match.
The “Clubman of the Year” points are allocated and we present a trophy to the winner.
There will be a trip sheet at the next 2 general meetings (we need numbers confirmed by Nov GM)
So pay your membership and book the weekend into your planner, its a cracking trip with many laughs
We will be base camping friday night and saturday night officially(some members get there a day or 2 early and some stay a day or 2 longer)
BYO everything for the weekend(apart from sat nite meal)
Sounds like a awsome weekend in the bush Matt…..any time away is good though! Gotta try to create some sizzle for the trip, get someone/anyone but you, me, Bickers and Bear on the site…DCF is a lurker… I might set my fridge to freeze and load up on icy-poles for the kids, even a lemonade icy-pole on Sunday morning will be heaven.aaaarrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
i have the 20lt drink/cordial conatainer to fill up for the kids….may even spike it with some of that vodka from last trip just for fun, at least the kids will sleep well
a lemonade icy pole could be our saviour sunday morning…………how about some magnum’s or drumsticks for the adults
a freezer is not such a bad idea mate it has many opportunities……..ohh im now on a tangent……doesnt Griffo have a slushy machine, would it work on a generator, this could be a momentus evening!adult cocktails!!!!
hhhmmmmmmmm………….!!!!
We could work out the wattage and bring a generator, add some of Griff’s wodka and other paint stripper and away we go! I reckon a new stomach lining would be needed Sunday morning.
I’m gunna put my beers in the Chilly Chest and go with the freezer idea…..mmmmmmm morning after callippo……maybe some watermelon?? hang on, fruit always ends badly for me.
No sizzle here Matt, lucky to find a heartbeat!
CBF on the cocktails, seems like far too much effort, Beer will tast filthy to me by Sat night…at least the first 3 will!
Very echo-y (is that a word?) round here Matt….tumbleweeds blowing thru, cockroaches scuttle when the light comes on. Hope the weather is better next weekend, a couple of dry days would be great. Still looking forward to the trip though…I won’t be much company for Rowd’s on the way in on Saturday, a bit moany and whingey.
Echo-y is ok in my books mate you could write whatever you wanted on here and it would be ok, even those deep dark secrets you have……….its 100% confidentiality mate just you and me.
Picture yourself on the couch at the shrinks, lay back and relax…….now tell me what ever you want, it wont go outside this forum i can help you overcome your fears “Trust Me” it’s OK
Geez i got bit carried away there anyway’s
i saw the long range forecast last night fri 22 and fine so hoping the rest of the wknd will be fine weather
on a different note i will be checking for track closures on monday after all this rain, it just keeps coming and coming……………the drought is well and truly over me thinks!
we may have to move again..hope its not affected like last year
Did I mention the weird dream I keep having?…no-one will pick me up when my roller-blades break down, everyone I know drives past, Elton John and Micheal Jackson stop…but I wave them on. not stupid! ….and Peter Roebuck was there driving a youth centre bus…with Ivan Milat as the tour guide.
What does it all mean?
I reckon you’ll be ok for closures…rain was gentle but constant…not the torrential floods of earlier in the year, and the weather looks good for the weekend, 22 for sat, 24 on sunday.
You have some friends in high places and elton will soon be there once he realises he also missed the bus
they will return in your next dream and you have the power to get them to pull over and then you may hop on the bus and take your rollerblades to be fixed by Ivan Milat who is not really a tour guide but a roller blade repair man…..are you feeling some clarity now?
does that make sense to you?
if not keep dreaming and that will eventually wet your appeteite and give you some relief
yep good forecast for melb’s hope it’s the same out bush
There will be no repairing of my rollerblades Matty…If I remember my dreams correctly,(coz I don’t actually own rollerblades) the wheels were worn down to the axles, sort of crumbled under the weight! I waved Elton and MJ on because they were singing Bee Gee’s songs acapella, and they were in a clown car…that is unacceptable. Ivan seemed like a fun loving fella, with a bit of a temper.
